FAQ

Q: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?

A: Hemp and marijuana are completely different variations of the Cannabis plant, and therefore, they have very distinct functions and applications.

On one hand, hemp is typically cultivated for clothing, dietary supplements, foods, and other commercial items. For instance, you may have tried hemp milk, oil, or protein, or you may have seen clothing made with hemp. It is also non-psychoactive (it won’t get you high).

On the other hand, marijuana is cultivated exclusively for the purpose of increasing the content of the plant’s only psychoactive phytocannabinoid, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), for medicinal and recreational use.

This is one of the most important distinguishing characteristics between the two: While marijuana generally has a high concentration of THC, hemp contains only a very tiny amount, no more than 0.3%, yet is very high in Cannabidiol (CBD). This leads to perhaps the utmost importance difference: Because of its negligible THC content, hemp can legally be sold in all 50 states in the United States.

Another way to think about the difference between hemp and marijuana is this metaphor: Just as lemons and limes are both citrus, hemp and marijuana are both Cannabis. However, they look different, have a different chemical makeup, and functionally, act very different.

Q: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD?

A: Due to federal regulations (DSHEA 1994), we cannot make specific health claims regarding CBD. We can only recommend our CBD products for general wellness and encourage folks to do their own research, consult with health-care providers and use peer-reviewed resources.

Q: IS CBD LEGAL?

A: CBD products derived from industrial hemp are legal at the federal level as of December 20, 2018. Specifically, the provisions of the Hemp Farming Act of 2018, which legalized industrial hemp that has THC concentration of no more than 0.3%, were incorporated in the 2018 United States Farm Bill. Please note that each state has the right to create its own laws and regulations.

Q: WHAT IS THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CBD FOR ME?

A: Individuals are as unique as fingerprints, and along those lines, there’s no one-size-fits-all regimen when it comes to adding hemp-derived CBD-rich extracts to your health and wellness routine. The goldilocks principle applies, and what works for one person may be too much for another and not enough for the next.

There are several factors that contribute to finding the optimal dose for:

• Bodyweight (e.g., larger folks tend to need proportionately higher doses)

• Genetics

• Intensity health concern

• Timing (e.g., time of day, with/without food)

• CBD tolerance/experience

Generally speaking, most CBD users find a “sweet spot” in the range of 10 – 20mg, taken once or twice daily (for a full – spectrum CBD product). Keep in mind, you can increase your dosage until you reach the desired results. On the upper end, some customers require 100 – 200mg or more of CBD per day to reach the desired effects.

Q: DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION OR MEDICAL CARD TO ORDER?

A: No, you do not need a prescription or medical card to place an order.

Q: IS THERE THC IN YOUR CBD PRODUCTS?

A: The gummies and cream are THC-free. The CBD tinctures and capsules feature full-spectrum hemp-derived extracts, which contain no more than 0.3% THC.

Q: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FULL-SPECTRUM CBD AND CBD ISOLATE?

A: Full-spectrum CBD means that the product features not only CBD but also other health-boosting compounds from hemp, including other phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. All these hemp-derived compounds work synergistically to boost the effects of CBD, a phenomenon that scientists refer to as the “entourage effect.” Isolated CBD, on the other hand, means that the product has only CBD and no other hemp-derived compounds.

Leading hemp researchers and CBD experts have recently reported that users may need significantly more CBD in the isolate form to get the same effects as you would from a full-spectrum extract. Generally speaking, we recommend using a full-spectrum CBD oil as your main daily source — such as our CBD Capsules and Oil — with the isolate form for only occasional or targeted use, such as with our CBD Gummies and Cream.

Q: ARE YOUR PRODUCTS TESTED FOR PURITY, QUALITY, AND SAFETY?

A: Absolutely! After all, it’s our mission to ensure you get the very highest quality CBD products, which are thoroughly tested by third-party labs for purity, potency and safety. So, you can rest easy knowing exactly what you’re putting into your body. But you don’t have to take our word for it. All our products are verified so you can access the test results to see for yourself the pristine quality and purity.

Q: WILL CBD GET ME “HIGH”?

A: No, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning that it doesn’t make you feel high nor does it have the dependence or tolerance properties associated with addictive substances. It’s non-addictive.

Q: ARE YOUR PRODUCTS NON-GMO?

A: Yes, our products are non-GMO, and they are also tested for pesticides, microbials, mycotoxins, and heavy metals.

Q: IS THE CBD ORGANIC?

A: At Premium Cannas, we’re proud to provide you with CBD products that are made from hemp that is grown following organic farming practices and natural methods. Our farmers do not use synthetic herbicides (such as glyphosate), pesticides or fungicides. Even more, our CBD products are safe from heavy metals, toxic mold, residual solvents and other potentially harmful contaminants.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Every CBD run is 3rd party tested and  verified so that you can see for yourself — simply by scanning the QR code on your bottle with your smartphone — independent lab test results that verify the purity, potency and safety of your   product.

Q: WILL CBD SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST?

A: Although it’s unlikely, there’s a possibility — albeit slim — that consumption of certain hemp-derived CBD extracts could lead to a false-positive drug test for marijuana, similar to how consuming poppy seeds may lead a drug test to detect opioids. This is especially true if you are taking large quantities of CBD daily.

Like all full-spectrum CBD products, our capsules and oils have trace amounts of THC that occurs naturally from the hemp plant. The amount in those products is tiny — less than 0.3%. If you don’t get drug tested, full-spectrum CBD is your best choice because it contains all beneficial parts of the hemp plant.

If you have concerns about drug testing (e.g., for work, athletics), our CBD Cream and CBD Gummies are guaranteed to be 100% THC-free. With those THC-free products, you will not have any concern.

Q: CAN I TAKE CBD WITH FOOD?

A: Yes, you can, and there’s some research suggesting that certain forms of CBD may be better absorbed when taken with food.  CBD products are bioavailability enhanced with phospholipids and MCT oil, however, so they don’t have to be taken with food to optimize absorption.

Q: CAN I TRAVEL WITH CBD (I.E., ON AN AIRPLANE)?

A: Yes, it is legal to travel domestically with hemp-derived CBD products.

Q: WHAT DOES BIOAVAILABILITY MEAN?

A: Bioavailability is a term used in reference to nutritional supplements that refers to the degree and rate of which the active ingredient(s) enters the body’s circulation — which is where it needs to be to take action.

Q: WHAT EXTRACTION METHOD DO YOU USE?

A: We use both a proprietary and superior CO2 and ethanol CBD extraction method that doesn’t leave residual chemicals like other brands. Our process starts with a patented drying process, then freeze-drying the whole hemp plant so all of its most healthy components — like the CBD — are kept active and intact without the use of harsh chemicals.

In fact, our CBD products are tested for herbicides, pesticides, toxic mold, pathogen and heavy metals, which is very important because hemp readily absorbs heavy metals and other chemical waste from the soil.

Q: DO YOU USE HEMP PLANTS FROM CHINA?

A: No, the products do not use hemp from China. All of our hemp is grown and processed in the United States.

Q: WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE?

A: CBD Capsules have a 3-year shelf-life. The shelf-life of CBD Oil and CBD Cream is 2 years, and CBD Gummies have a 1-year shelf life.

Q: CAN YOUR PRODUCTS BE REFRIGERATED/FROZEN?

A:  The products do not require refrigeration, and we recommend keeping them in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a cabinet. You may refrigerate/freeze the CBD Capsules and Gummies to preserve shelf-life. Please do not put the CBD Oil or Cream in the refrigerator or freezer.

Q: CAN I PURCHASE PRODUCTS IN A STORE?

A:  Yes, the products are available in stores or through third-party websites.

Q: WHAT OTHER CANNABINOIDS ARE IN YOUR PRODUCTS?

A: The full-spectrum CBD products (e.g., CBD Capsules, CBD Oil) contain high concentrations of CBD as well as other phytocannabinoids, such as CBN, CBG, CBC, and CBDV; key terpenes, such as myrcene, pinene and limonene; and even flavonoids, like cannflavin A, which all work together synergistically to boost the health effects of CBD — some even have powerful, positive effects of their own.

Q: WHERE IS YOUR HEMP GROWN?

A: The CBD extracts come from premium hemp plants sustainably farmed in Kentucky, Oregon and Colorado.
